First Oil Change

Has anyone had to push their mileage past the first oil change due to circumstances? If so, any wrath from the dealer?

If so, how high were you and did you receive the full synthetic at the first oil change?

I tend to go early on the first oil change. Around 500 miles on a new car. I would not go more than 3000 even on synthetic.

As for later intervals, I have gone over by 1000 miles (I drive mostly all highway) and no one at the dealership seemed to care. In fact I started getting oil changes at an independent garage down the street from my office the dealership did not care.
