  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not impressed with the photos. I know this is just a side view, and parts of the side are hidden by the vinal cover, but the rear quarter window area is UGLY. Also, don't like the wheels (too many spokes) but that could always be changed.

From what I remember of the photos of the next Senata, which will be introduced very soon, I like that car better.

Any idea where/when these were taken?

Don't know when but they were taken in S. Korea.

Yeah, not exactly digging the greenhouse (the Cadenza/K7's greenhouse is much better).

As for the wheels, methinks that's standard Hyundai wheels for test mules.

Is this the 'fluidic sculpture' version? I don't know about the other posters but I really like the profile so far as well as the rear window area. Maybe it might look better if we see whats under that heavy camo right under those windows as it looks like there is a pretty big design element there. But so far with the camo on it does look like the rear and front are from two different cars smashed together. The end of the chrome strip near the mirror is reminiscent of the chrome strip used on the Sonata near the end of the rear door area so I think it will have a family resemblance. So far the profile looks sleek and fast. I hope it turns out nicely as I think the current Azera looks like what my grandpa would drive.

Got these pics of a 2011 Azera off a Yahoo Group I belong to. Kinda looks like the current Azera.

Kinda? It is the current Azera. That's nothing but a mild refresh for 2011 until the 2012 model gets here in approx. 18 months.

where did you hear that it's out in 18 months? that seems a bit too far out. the K7 is already out in Korea and shares almost the same technology. i don't see the Azzy coming out as a late 2012/2013 model. by then the Genesis will be ready for a redesign or at least a major refresh.

The Kia Cadenza (K7) should reach our shores by this fall, and has been in development longer than the Azera. The Azera, which will be very similar to the Cadenza under the surface is probably about 6 months to a year off from that. Like most other recent Hyundai models, you will see the Azera debut in Korea several months prior to making it to our shores. The earliest we could hope to see it is 1 year from now, but given that Hyundai went through the effort of refreshing the current model, I'd guess approx. 18 months is a more realistic expectation.

Time will tell. Even John Krafcik didn't specify if it would be a 2012 or 2013 model when it arrives in the states, but he did state in a Hyundai Think Tank chat that it would "run circles around the SHO and Maxima". I hope he's not just talking the talk. :D

And FYI, the Genesis is getting a refresh for 2011. There are already spy shots on the web. It will have more power, an 8-speed auto, a slightly revised from end, and bumper integrated exhaust tips ala the Equus.
