  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a flashing open hood symbol in my cluster ,im guessing it is a sensor , is there any way to turn this off. I check the hood and it is not open. Open to suggestion.

The hood open sensor is at the front right (right if you are seated in the car) of the car. "A" in the picture below. If you disconnect the switch/sensor, it should then read as closed all the time. (Looks like open circuit is hood closed, short circuit is hood open) Alternately, you may be able to adjust it to correct the issue.

Was driving to Cabela’s and had an open hood notification in my cluster as well, saw this post and pulled over and fixed it. Thanks!

Is it possible to post a better picture? I cannot see which part you are pointing to. I'm not a car person. I don't know much about cars. I tried to find the switch but couldn't find it .thanks.

I had the same problem...I started by opening the hood and cleaning all over the place with a strong detergent! (Since I have my car treated against rust every year with a oily coumpound, the dust sticks to the surroundings). After that, the trouble disapeared!

Hi Everyone, What about the 5.0 ? I've been having this alarm going for 3 days now. Can someone help with a solution ?

Should be exactly the same as the 3.8, as far as this issue is concerned.

I finally had to have the latch replaced! A little pin that actuates the sensor was misplaced due to a broken part.

I just cleaned the whole metal piece from around "A" part. It worked!
