  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just washed my car and I dried it. After that I run my hands on the doors and it is smooth and then I run it on the roof of the car and it does not feel smooth as the doors do. Does anyone else here have this problem? I dont know if it is a flaw in the paint maybe when they put the clear coat on it it had some dust specks or not.

A wax such as from Meguire's Cleaner Wax will probably fix that problem. Using a clay bar is optional (Meguire's sells a Smooth Surface Clay Kit). Do not use a polish or polishing compound.

If that doesn't fix it, take it to the dealer (I am assuming your car is fairly new).

yeah. just bought it a few months ago. so im guessing it is just road grime from driving then.... im glad its not a paint flaw from the factory... or i hope not. well, i will give that cleaner wax a try next time i wash the car. its a 2013 genesis base model. i just talked to a friend and he said that could be a possiblity that its just road grime that got suck to the clear coat.

likely road grime and tree sap blown by wind.

yeah, im hoping thats what it is. i researched a little on how they do their paint and they do a electro coating on their cars... pretty nice tech and expensive to do... im thinking its not a paint flaw now that i talked to more people about it. thanks for the input. im just worried. i just bought the car and a new hyundai owner. didnt wanna discredit their quality
