  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone taken the flying H off the windows? How hard is it to do without scratching the window? Also, can you do it if it came tinted by the dealer without ruining the tint?

Once the windows are tinted, there is no way without redoing the tint job. But I thought that on some of the windows (front especially ?) the H is between the laminated panes of glass? Maybe I am wrong about that.

That flying H is hard to remove. I tried for a short bit and it appears to be baked on. If you scratch your fingernail over it you can feel the applique so I don't believe it's between panes. Again, I tried to remove one but gave up since it wasn't that important to me.

You could try a razor blade to scrape it off. I used to use one to scrape off the pricing paint on the windshields when I was working in the clean up department at my local GM dealer way back in high school. You would have to remove the tint unfortunately.

I just double-checked my windshield and I cannot feel the H at all. The side and rear glass is different and the H is an appliqué on those, but sure feels like the H is inside the glass on the windshield (on passenger side). The Genesis windshield is the only glass that has the sound-proofing layer inside it (Equus has sound-proofing glass all the way around).

Yeah, I was talking about the side glass. I missed your windshield reference. I never did check that but I know the "grid" pattern (around the RVM) is in between that layers since my radar detector is suction cupped there.

Both V6 and V8 models in addition to the laminated windshield, also have the front side windows laminated. I woudn't mind having them all laminated.
