  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Going to remove the flying H onthe plastic engine cover and replace it with a 3.8 badge anyone done this? Wondering it nylon fishing line would be best or is this badge held on with clips.

Tpr5.0 has done this with his 5.0

Personally for me I'm gonna remove the H and either leave it blank or put some sticker over it.

IIRC the H had 2 clips but regardless nylon fishing rod, heat gun to soften the old double-sided tape and goof off with a cotton rag will do a clean job.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This is a humorous problem. The only people who open my hood are me and the Hyundai service guy. We can both withstand the humiliation of seeing a flying H on the engine.

Not true! The random family walking by me in the Walmart parking lot when I am refilling my washer fluid could see! Their dreams will be shattered!

This is my way of getting rid of the H.
There are 2 post on the H that make it a little hard to get off and they leave 2 holes in the engine cover. As you can see, there is an indention in the cover. So I made this emblem to take care of the holes and indention. It is made of mahogany (sp) and the wife put the GENESIS on it.

I know no one else will see it, but I will and I like it.

I'm gonna measure the area in the engine bay to see if this will fit.

Gonna look similar to this if it fits.

Just thought I would resurrect this post in case anyone else was interested like I was. I used Goof Off Professional and it took me about 30 seconds to remove the H. I just squirted it around the edges and let it sit long enough to grab a small scraper. The H popped right off and then I wiped down the area with a rag with Goof Off to remove any residue. Now to figure out what I'm going to put in it's place. 🤔

intrigued and subscribed. standard wings don't fit and if they come off, no bueno if they come off under the hood.

I brought a genesis coupe sticker of the same size to cover the area. I know it is not perfect and has coupe writing, but ok for me and it was an oval sticker too

I went with the steering wheel logo I bought from here for the time being. I had hoped it would be a bit larger, but it will do for now. I've been looking at getting one made that is the exact size of the oval, but it's difficult because of copyright issues. A lot of local places won't do logos. But I've got nothing but time, so I'll come up with something eventually.
