If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey Fellarz!

Thought I would share this. I run quite a bit and sweat like nobody's business. Anyways, I was using a towel on my seat but still allowed some sweat to go through which was bothering me. I ended up doing some research and bought this:

Google SeatShield .com (I bought the elitesport)

It works really well. If you do any gym work and don't want to get get your seat stinky / wet I would recommend it.

Happy running!

Thanks for the link, just ordered mine. I've always used a beach towel but I figured there had to be something more specific, I just never looked into it.

Thanks for sharing! :)
I'll probably order one for my puppies. :D

If you have a dog, I bought a back seat cover.... it works really good.

Friend of mine actually bought one for cheap off of ebay. It worked, but didn't look too pretty.
The ones they sell at pet shops or better looking ones aren't exactly cheap.
Where did you get yours from?

This is one of the first things I bot for the Genesis, as I run daily. It works really well, totally waterproof. Large enough to fit the seat.

Question: How quickly can you take it off? How quickly can you put it on? 10sec? 30sec?

I run about once a week so I want to be able to put it on only when I run. Thanks.

There are 3 versions. I would recommend the expensive version. The cheaper one isn't 100% water proof. The midrange and Ultra are the same, except, the Ultra has a backing that prevents it from moving around the seat and is only 5 bucks more. It can be removed in 1 second, put on in 5 sec.

I bought this one: http://www.ohmydogsupplies.com/deluxe-back-seat-car-cover.html

I have a 95lb American Bulldog and it works great. I'd stay away from nylon ones because they move around to much. The soft leather of the Genesis holds this one nice and tight. I switched out the top straps with 6" or 8" bungee cords. Works great!

I'll admit now though, whenever me and the girl go for a ride we usually take the truck. Its funny sometimes though..... she'll walk over to the Genesis as if we were going to take that one. I think she misses it.:o I'll take her for a ride this weekend in it!

That one is really nice. Yeah, the one my friend's got is the nylon one.
Thanks for the link.

I just purchased the EliteSport SeatShield but I am not sure if what I received in the mail is the EliteSport SeatShield.

I received a cover in a plastic bag with an insert for a WaterProof SeatShield. The plastic bag or insert does not say if I have an EliteSport SeatShield.

I put the cover over the seat and tried it out. It doesn't hold in place. It doesn't seem to have a slip free backing (however there is some type of material attached to the cover).

Do you think I have the EliteSport SeatShield? Could I have been sent a AllSport SeatShield by mistake (no slip free backing)?

I sent Rouge River Sports an email and left them a message but they have returned neither.

There should be some elastic on the portion that covers the head rest. The rest of it will move around. What you can do is jam the cover between the bottom half of the seat and the top half, where the seat is segmented. That way the cover will not really move around. It's not meant to be a custom fit, or a fitted seat cover. It's meant to come off and on easily. I have 2 cars I drive regularly and the thing is great. It's completely waterproof.

How does the seat cover work with the cooled driver seat? My seat is already anemic enough!

It probably doesn't. The ventilated seat isn't meant to move that much air. I had this on my Mercedes and you couldn't really feel it either. It's just meant to move some air as to limit STS (Sweaty Taint Syndrome). It's not air conditioning for your bum. People assume that since the heat work so well that the fan will too. Heat is much easier to pass through the leather. Cool air is not.

Does your cover (or the bag or insert it came with) have any labeling on it that identifies it as the EliteSport SeatShield?

If not, how do we identify what we have (from the three types of covers)?

you can make it out by the pictures on the website. The elite and ultra look much larger than the all sport. I think the difference between the Elite and Ultra (I have the ultra) The elite has some type of backing on it that keeps it from moving around as much.

I bought the EliteSport SeatShield. Unfortunately it doesn't work as advertised. Does not prevent you from sliding. Does not work well with the saddle leather.

I brought the car to the dealer for a free two month inspection and the technician told me that I should not be using a seat cover as it is a safety hazard.

He explained to me that since it covers the seat it could prevent one of the air bags from engaging. He showed me a warning on the driver's side seat about the danger of covering the seat with anything. He recommended I use a towel.

I find it works just fine for the trip home from the gym. Certainly better than a towel.

Sounds like nonsense to me. The seatshield would be no more of an impediment to airbags than a towel, it's not like it's fitted the way traditional seat covers at Walmart are.

Much better than a towel. I have the mid level one and I don't go anywhere without it.

The only thing I could see this thing possibly getting in the way of, is the active head restraint, and even then I doubt it would make that much of a difference, since it's not really fitted on the seat.
