Free Map Update

Received a flier from Hyundai for a free map update for my 2009 today. Anybody else get one of these?

It was from Hyundai USA and it was not dealer specific.

When did you purchase your 2009? There was an update for some 2009s a while back - ones purchased (not built) very early only. I missed the cutoff date by about two months. Maybe now (finally!) I'll get an update? I haven't seen any fliers in my mail recently... though one SoCal (but not really local) dealer keeps littering my mailbox with "we wanna buy your car!" crap.

Got my notice today, however I had the P06 update done a few weeks ago.

In reading posts about the update in this BB, I see that some dealers don't really know how to do the update, (Re; follow the correct procedure in correct order) and that these same dealers may take all day, or two days or more before they get it done correctly. For anyone who lives in or near Orlando (Central Florida area), I HIGHLY recommend Orlando Hyundai (Genesis Technician Mark) to do the update. Took my car in at 8 am and was out before Noon.

Hi gang;
I have a 2009 Genny, 4.6 with tech Pkg, and did not receive an update coupon. I called Hyundai and they said it was a special promotion only sent to some randomly selected owners. Anyone else with a 2009 who did not receive the coupon??

Early 2009 V8/Tech and no nav database updates yet... I did get the "Car of the Year" license plate frame and the Equus bottle stopper freebies in the mail - so Hyundai "knows" me - but no nav update coupon.

the update (more for audio changes) but I don't wanna pay
$300 for it. :-(

Any ideas? Is there an online coupon?

Nice story, Kevin. I love my 2009 Genny, July 2009 build bought new in October 2009, but I'm disappointed I never received a Genny license place, Equus wine stopper or free map upgrade. Meanwhile I have an appointment for upgrade this Thursday and will be very upset if I get a freebie coupon later.

Again, best wishes with your Genesis, I know you'll love it too.

I had my appointment Thursday for 15,000 mile maintenance on my 2009 (July build) 4.6 tech. I never received a free nav upgrade. The dealer in Long Island NY refused to do a nav upgrade saying there is no "campaign" on it, "there is nothing to do, we have no disks on your model". I can't understand - I was willing to pay for it (not happily).

Hi Rich;
The dealer is wrong-probably doesn't know where to look as Hyundai again has failed to make dealers aware of the upgrade process. Here's the real story and what to do:
Map update for 2009 Gennys (and maybe others) is available from MapnSoft but only to dealers.

1. Tell dealer to go to the MapnSoft website below and click on Dealer Login
https://www.mapnsoft.com/search.asp?id=1
2. Input model name and year.
3. Order update (# is 4D01)
4. Mapnsoft will send disks to dealer.

Dealer is correct that there is no campaign for this as Hyundai says its all handled by Mapnsoft. Campaign PO6 is a promotion for selected owners of 2009 Gennys- don't ask me why not everyone or how selection was made.

Does nanyone know whether P06 is only for the Nav database or is other software/firmware in the tech Package also updated?? Ditto for the 4D01 package from Mapnsoft.???

$300!! The dealership in Memphis quoted me $450...the more I deal with them, the more I hate my local dealer.

Well I have the 2012 and the Nav map reads Ver. 03.00.00.2010.~ so is that the new one?
