  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I decided to just do it and paint the front grill flat black. I had used the Raptor Flat Black paint fo my tail pipes and they came out amazing so I think this is a perfect color.

I have removed that bumper so many times already but this involves lots of screws and wires just to get to the grill so I need 2 days minimum of not needing to drive it. 7-10 coats and 1-2 days drying.

Was going to start tonight but I have a Dr. Appt in the morning. I mean once it is off I would still drive it in an emergency but who wouldn't and I mean just no grill. Putting the bumper back on is 10 minutes if I was in an emergency. I would just leave a few clips off lol

I considered a junk yard but those are $$$$. Guess I better hope this comes out nice lol

I am taking it eventually to get the mirrors, door handles and a few other things wrapped in the newer 3d CF PPF that I cannot even tell from my real CF so I can ditch the fake pieces and I will see how much if possible to wrap the ring around the grill.

With all the CF and the new Reflective Red CF emblems the grill just no longer fits in well.

What is funny is that the Smoked Chrome actually does a good job at splitting up the colors on the side of the car. I was considering wrapping them in flat black but I never just do things without lots of thought and photoshop and the sides may stay unless they peel a third time however these have lasted longer than the first 2 sets combined.

I hope to have an update this week as long as I have the time not to drive. Better go to the store tomorrow to get food haha

First 3 coats and I brought it inside because there were bugs flying around it.

I see the pinhead sized spot on the top part but nothing I can do. It’s not that something got in there.

I’ll see when it’s dried completely but I love it so far.

Dealership stripped both of the top bolts on each side that hood the bumper on right above the lights.

I’ve taken the bumper off 10 times and know to lightly tighten them wtf technician. I left a dent from my flathead to pry/turn but it’s super tiny but the body shop said they can easily fix it.

I was so careful but a little pressure did that but other side same thing both wrapped in material but the pressure needed was too much.

I’ll live and they said it will be fine.

Here is the final look before I reinstall it.

Anyone confused about that center thing it’s a solid plastic anyway and I painted it the same.

I’ll let it sit as long as I can after it’s sits overnight. Better off.

It looks great.

That looks good with your color G70. It will be interesting to see how durable the paint is after driving it for a while. Are you going to cover it with a satin clear coat too?

Finished. Did not clear it and if it gets ruined I’ll maybe use the raptor paint in matte even if it’s textured or possible I may have my brother clear it at his job.

This is pretty nice. How has the paint been holding up?

It has been good but I think I not debris made a few micro piece pop off. I know it’s there however even I can’t see unless I bend down and look.

It’s only in one spot where you would wash it likely a bit harder but the spot is like the size of 1/3 piece of rice.

I’m gonna wait and touch up if it ever gets worse but 3 weeks later and it hasnt.

Not taking the grill out next time.
