Front License Plate

The designed front license location in the middle of the grill is a poor choice. Turn stock bracket upside down and mount lower as shown.

Good idea. A lot of others since 2015 model have done the same thing.

It's usually not a good idea to show your license plate number on the Internet. You can hide the numbers using PhotoShop or some picture editing software.

That's a great idea. I went to try this on my G80 Sport but it's designed to fit on the grill where it is and can't be flipped or moved down, I can maybe move it up if anything lol

No. it is roughly the same size as the plate. Any dealer should be able to get it for you.

Below is a pic I took of a 2018 G80 Sport at a U.S. dealer. I do not have a plate on my 2018 G80 Sport as it is not required in my state.

Your plate bracket looks like a non-U.S. or aftermarket version.

You definitely have a weird bracket. Call them. Get them to change it. Ruins the look of the car showing some cheap plastic.

I reached out to Genesis HQ (GMA), here's their response, Interesting.

I spoke with the several of our senior managers including one over parts and it was verified by multiple people, that is the correct part number and corresponding part. Some vehicles receive aftermarket license plate assemblies when at the port or when they arrive at the local retailer, but the one the dealership provided for you is the actual OEM Genesis part. I can understand if you prefer to have the aftermarket bracket put on, but cannot assist you with that.

According to them, All cars who DO NOT have the bracket I have are after market.

I did receive the factory/OEM front license plate when I purchased my 2018 G80 Sport. I requested it NOT be mounted as a front plate is not required in my state.

Part # for the entire front license plate assembly (mount and screws) is 86910-B1800.
Part # for mount only is 86519-B1810

Note: This plate mount is likely specific to the G80 Sport. The 2018 G80 Sport model has a different bumper/grill than the 3.8 and 5.0 models.


The mount size is the size of a typical U.S. license plate There is no plastic extending beyond the plate as shown above by "Nat".

CBET25 I have a tow hook plate mount, and unfortunately it does interfere with the front sensor. I have tried adjusting it a few times with no luck. I'm going to play with it a little more, but its not looking good so far...
