  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a Genesis AWD with technology package. Grear car!

One thing that is strange though. When pulling up my on my driveway, the front parking sensor doesn't work when getting up close to my garage door. However if I go into reverse and then into drive, the parking front parking sensor works.

This is unlike other cars I have driven with parking sensors where they operate at low speeds without having going through reverse first.

Is this by design or is there a problem?

Unless there is a way to program to work that way, I think it's a problem. This car will continue to be a learning process over time....

Do you have the parking assist system enabled (toggle switch on console between seats)?

Sounds like you don't have it turned on. Hit the button on the center console with the big letter "P" on it as noted above. The light should come on and you will hear an audible beep as you approach your garage door. Once pressed, it is forever on unless you happen to inadvertently press it (which I have done in the past)

Embarrassing... Yes it was switched off.

My mitigation is that the rear sensors still work and the front ones work if the gearshift has passed through reverse even with the system switched off. That really threw me as i had cycled the switch a couple of times and assumed that the switch lit up meant the system was off.

I need to RTFM...
