  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is it possible that my GV70 does not have a front Parking Sensor? It has the button and control light, but no alert beeping.
Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assisting, remote start BUT NO PARKING SENSOR? My cheap old car had it standard.

I can say my GV70 does. It shows proximity to objects and beeps when parking (both in the cluster and in the infotainment screen). It also shows when waiting in a stop light (or stop sign) when the car in front leaves, but probably this is sensed by the front camera, not the sensors).

More likely, in that case it is the front radar.

Parking sensors are ultrasonic (you can see them on the bumpers).
Cruise control sensor is radar.
Blind spot sensors are radar.

I'm curious why the difference. Is it because sonar is more responsive (faster) but shorter range, and radar has longer range? Or is there another reason such as cost or battery use?

Thanks.

Ultra sonic is a lot cheaper (orders of magnitude) than radar, but is shorter range and less focused.

Thanks. Whatever it is called, though, I can't believe it doesn't come standard.

The 2.5T Std & Select trims, as well as the 3.5T Std do not include Front Parking Distance Warning feature. What trim do you have?

The GGM (Genesis Genius Marketing) Team has done a masterful job of promoting inexpensive, useful features to higher trims to bait potential buyers up the trim scale so they can include more expensive features. Example - need to switch up to the 3.5T Sport Prestige to get HUD and Digital Cluster, which forces you to buy the expensive 3.5 and eLSD (?)

Thanks. I have the Select trim. VERY disappointed with my first (and now probably only) Genesis purchase. I can't believe it would not be a standard feature.
The GGM team succeeded in making me a non repeat customer.

I always check to make sure the features that are important to me are definitely included in the car I’m getting before making a final decision. Never assume.

Makes sense when you're making a big purchase. :)

is it possible the Select Trim which I have has no sensor in the lower section near the center bumper whereas maybe the license place can be replaced off of the grill and placed down center over the bumper or is there still some kind of sensor there on the Select Trim also.

Check to see if there is a small button just up from the infotainment knob (left side) that has a small "P" on it. If you disable that, it will not sound. Also in the vehicle settings, it gives the option of disabling it. Might be it, unless it truly doesn't have it - which I would doubt, even on the base model. Maybe no cameras of course, but this should be standard.

Thanks. I do have the button, and the light is on (or off, it doesn't make a difference). No alert. :(

So my question is, I know I dont have front parking alert only rear in my Select Trim . But I do have front collision alert.
So would that or any other sensor be where I have the license diagramed to be which is centered just below the grill. I dont see anything there when I look in there..

Do you know the location of the cruise control sensor and the blind spot sensors? I think that the blind spot cameras are on the rearview mirrors.

Thank you for the quick reply, I appreciate it. Is there a forward facing camera? If yes do you know where it is located? Maybe integrated into the rearview mirror?
There’s a camera by the rear view mirror , you can see it if you look at the windscreen from outside, if you got a higher trim level then there will be 3 radars in front bumper and 2 in the back , for the adaptive cruise control , there’s just one radar like the picture In the post
