  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The front passenger and rear driver window do not open from the power window switch on the drivers side of my 2009 hyundai genesis 4.6. The power window switches for the driver window and the rear passenger window function normally. The front passenger window is able to go down if pressing the power window switch from the passenger door.

Any ideas?

Probably a bad switch. I've heard of them going and I've heard they are expensive. I'd just leave them closed and let climate control do its thing. I never put rear windows down, rare to open the front passenger.

Looks like the driver's switch panel is about $651.00 plus tax and shipping. I would remove it and try some CRC contact cleaner on the plug side as well as gently on the rocker switches. Make sure to have some dry air or nitrogen to dry everything. See if that helps.

I had the same problem on my 2013. The window would work from the rear door switch but not from the master switch. Contact cleaner on the master switch plug and rocker switch did not help. The problem was a cold solder joint on the male jack/receptacle for the plug. The master switch housing is held together by 6 or 8 plastic tabs that have to be carefully pried up/released without breaking them. I don't recall for sure, you may have to then remove the circuit board to get to the jack. Reflow the 5 or 6 solder joints for the jack.
