  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I can't find it mentioned anywhere on the rather extensive car fax service history on my 2013 that I just recently purchased

When I asked my dealer 10-ish years ago, they said the requirement to periodically replace the fuel tank air filter was an error in the manual and the filter never needs servicing. They said that all of this was communicated to them by Hyundai corporate. I've never had one done in all the years I've owned my cars, and never had an issue. So I would presume that most of our cars will not have any mention of fuel tank air filters in their service records.

Good to know. After I posted I found a YouTube video on how it's done. Step 1 is remove the backseat!
Needless to say it's a labor intensive task .
Nice to know it can be bypassed.
Thanks for the information

I actually had to replace the charcoal canister filter on my 2011 4.6. while I can't prove it, I think the problem was caused by the gas station attendant topping off the tank. I'm in New Jersey so it's illegal to put my own gas.

Former Jersey Boy myself born in Newark Down Neck(aka The Ironbound).
Jersey is either the only one or one of two states requiring attendants.
I get weird looks when I'm up visiting and start to get out to fill up.
