  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

To whoever sees this, can you do me a favor and take a quick look at the fuel neck for your gas tank? Does it have a flap or does the fill neck go straight into the fuel tank unobstructed? I could have sworn there was some sort of flap there but I'm not 100% certain.

Thank you in advance!

No flap on my '14 fuel neck, straight shot to the tank.

Awesome, thanks for getting back to me! Looks like it's time to order an EVAP/charcoal canister to fix the gas nozzle from constantly clicking off at gas stations. Wanted to be sure there wasn't a chance of a physical obstruction causing the issue.

Really reminds me how much more helpful forums generally are over random Facebook groups. Asked the same question on one of the larger Genesis Facebook groups and had people replying that clearly didn't read the entire post...two people replied and neither of them answered the question. The social media brainrot is a such a real thing. You have to keep the questions short otherwise people get distracted.

I had the same issue on my old 09 3.8 Genesis. Charcoal canister resolved it. Odd thing is, on my wife's Tahoe, we had to do this twice. Come to find out, she was over filling, meaning after the tank was full and the fill nozzle would click and stop pumping, she would continue to squeeze the handle. This was causing fuel to make is way to the charcoal canister and over time broke the media down inside to the point where it would no longer vent. Let us know if that resolved it.

Vehicle has 252k miles all miles from my parents from when they bought it new in 2012. I'm sure that canister is just done at that mileage. Car isn't giving any CELs and I've replaced every other component in the EVAP system (filter, purge valve, vent valve, gas cap) within the past year and a half so the canister is the final piece.

Will certainly update the thread when I have the part installed.
