Current G80 and GV80 will see their life-cycle extended to include a 2.5T hybrid powertrain, with the next gen models including EREV for those still not ready to fully commit to BEV.

While these are all nice and good, the X Series and supercar (not to mention the GV90) will be low volume models, so Genesis needs another volume seller to help support its growing standalone dealer network.
Like I've stated before, a more rugged (box shaped) CUV (somewhere btwn the sizes of the 2G GV70 and GV80) should do the trick (even better if also do a LWB version with a 3rd row); yeah, there are those who have CUV fatigue but that's what sells.
