  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G-Force Perfromance Chip (anyone use one)

Something tells me if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

If this were true - wouldn't Hyundai just put this in the car? Seriously, 60hp more and 3mpg better? Hyundai would do this if it were possible

Of course, this is a marketing site for the GTE chip which is made by Car Performance Chip, so I would not put to much faith into this site.

I have never seen any of these plug in chips really do anything. As an owner of a 2009 Corvette, I can tell you that a tune by a professional shop will run you at least $500-$1000 and can make a big difference in how the engine and transmission respond compared to stock.

I just don't think there are a lot, if any, shops that have spent the time to decode the Hyundai ECU/TCU. Most shops go after the true performance cars like the Vette, Mustang, Dodge, etc. It takes a lot of R&D time and many runs on a dyno to really get it right. I don't think these shops see much of a market for a Genesis tune.

For what it's worth. Unless, from my experiences, a car is turbo charged or supercharged chips simply don't work. Years ago I owned a BMW 328i. Took it to some gents that claimed they could increse the HP by working on the engine ECU. After 9 dyno runs with 9 different Ecu settings nothing ever changed. Also, I bought a Sprint Booster for $369. All it does is change throttle angle settings and response. I don't know what kind of technology one could expect for 69 bucks but I'd wager zero. Save your money.

Has anyone tried the GTE Performance Chip Sold by PerformanceChipTuning.com (rated number 1 in the review link posted by Rudderman98?

if we have an adaptive ( learning) ECU why do we need a chip? I'm confused..... I notice a very dramatic change in driving characteristics when I fill with premium and add octane boost to get rsm/2 of about 94-96
