  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hi folks,

I am looking for used car to purchas-lease not an option as I drive 15+Kmi a year. Was considering a G90 but my taste overwhelms my budget. I drove a G70 V6 and it was a rocket and also drove a G70 which is probably a wiser choice with better gas mileage. However, I have seen/driven 4 of them so far with remaining factory warranty here in south Florida. One of them a G70 2.0 Elite had warm AC and was told evaporator would be replaced prior to purchase. The other had a carfax (also 2.0L) showing it had AC evaporator replaced. That would be a huge repair out of warranty. Did this affect certain years or models? Or just a fluke that 1/2 of the ones I looked at have this probLen, if so, any redesign or fixes if this is/was a common issue?

Any suggestions on specific model specs that have proven to be more robust/durable than others? I am avoiding the 2019 models for being first model year. I know all cars have some weak areas, just gathering information. Thanks in advance!

You don’t mention year but I have a 2023 G70 (also in South Florida) and a/c is cold!

I am shopping for 2020+ for budget of $30k or less...just curious of what to look out for buying used besides checking for normal maintenance.

I am coming from a 2010 Mercedes S550 which I loved the ride and luxury but the maintenance costs become like a small mortgage. Have also had an Alfa Giulia lease which the G70 reminds me of, I leased that vehicle.

i guess these G70s must be very reliable as the forums are not very active.
I see some G90s under $30k but the mileage is higher- they drive very close to the Mercedes.

great options
