  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 3000 mile g70 3.3t that has a head unit that stops providing all audio and makes bluetooth useless. This is an intermittent problem with no set pattern. The dealer has had the car twice for a total of 7 days and after the 2nd time in they said the head unit was hacked via hd radio(?) and while they are working on a solution. I should just make sure the HD radio buttons are toggled off. This does not work. I have started a case number with Genesis corporate care weeks ago, but they did not even submit it to corporate until yesterday. I love the way the car drives, but my the customer service experience is awful. No one from the dealer or Genesis has ever initiated a call. Any suggestions on where I should go next? FYI- just got my JD Power survey yesterday, and I must say, it was not pretty.

we identified an issue a while back with a specific radio station in Texas that was causing head unit problems. But you included no info about where you are located so no clue if thats your case

I'm in the Houston area.

Your solution is buried here somewhere than. Forgot which thread. Easy fix.

Stinger folks had the issue.

Get it off of 94.5 (or at least HD anyway).

Stinger forum...

Well...try changing the station real quick when you get into FM, etc...kind of like they mention. Perhaps another Houston area station has become the culprit.

It seems to be too much of a coincidence...so I bet it is the same issue.

The car is has all presets on XM and the HD button is always in off position for both fm and am.

Update. Radio/head unit issue is getting worse. Dealer says it is a Genesis corporate issue and Genesis corporate has been non responsive. And yes I have a case number.

How about you stop playing games with it and just delete (or write over) all the stations. Just use usb and see if it fails. If not, Then just add the Sirius and check again. Leave all AM and FM not added.

According to Genesis corporate, it's not a HD hack. I have nuked all stations but issue is still there. The only one playing games is Genesis corporate.

Just trying to help here and be sure I understand. You have delete all the Sirius, am and fm station. When you play via a usb cable how long does it take to fail?

If the system is failed over, USB does not work, along with the Bluetooth, nav and everything else. You can hear a little bit of simulated static right before it dies. I said simulated because while it sounds like static,. It has a digital pattern. I must say, everyone who has been in the car admires the Bluetooth speaker I have shoved in the cupholder.

Lemon law time? It’s just insane this is only Texas; regardless you should expect some sort of resolution in the form of a speedy fix or buyback

Why do folks seem think they can get a buyback just by saying the magical incantation: “lemon law”? Have you looked into what it takes?

Yes, I understand, that's why I haven't mentioned it. I'm sure my case will get uglier before it gets resolved.

I haven’t but I do know it usually takes at least 3-4 unfixable visits or 30 days out of service but it all depends on your state. Even trying to get a buyback can be a pain, not to mention if lawyers have to get involved. That’s for the OP to research and decide. I didn’t suggest it when he first said it was an issue, only now that’s he’s been through several steps already. It’s not a magical word and people actually think about things before throwing out the word lemon law contrary to what you might think

Did you try a FULL reset of the infotainment system? Not sure how it’s done...but I know it’s there. Perhaps even pull the fuse for it.

Small black button near volume control is the hard reset. I also disconnected battery for 30 minutes. Hard reset used to help, but has no effect now.
