  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Man versus pothole, pothole won.

whooooaaaaa - well, 550 is better than 1200 from Genesis, I guess. I have found OEM reconditioned and guaranteed zero defects or money back for 200. I am first going to try to get it unbent, on Monday, if the price is anywhere near the cost of the recon, I'll just buy that. Otherwise, I'll see what the wheel repair place can do. I just thought, hey, nobody really wants these wheels, so why not try to find them new. Looks like I was wrong. Thanks for the link, Kirk.

If you have wheel rebuild shops anywhere near you, try one. They can do a fabulous job with repairs and refinish work generally. I’ve not used them on my Genesis, but I have on a Mazda and the work was flawless and no way to pick out the repaired wheel from the others. Most body shops will have preferred wheel shops they use and trust so you can check with them too. If the wheel is damaged beyond repair, the wheel shop will tell you.

I decided to go this route....found a local reputable wheel repair guy and they did a good job. Banged the wheel up slightly on the inner barrel where the bend was (cant see damage from the outside) but overall the wheel is straight and true again. For $110 it was well worth the gamble.

well, my only local place charged 125, and it was an inner bend, not very bad, and it's still not 100% true. Shop says they can never fix wheels back to 1005 true, but other shops I speak to online say no, they fix wheels 100%, or else they do not attempt. So I guess I will try and get my money back, and either buy new for 600 (jesus christ) or ship to another, more reputable store that guarantees the fix.

This car and it's wheel /brake issues is something esle. I love it, but this shit is wearing very very very thin.

Edit - talked local place down to 550, got money back from wheel repair place, and just bought a new wheel. Do not understand OEM pricing, could have bought 2 nice aftermarket wheels for 6.
