  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

FYI upfront, I get nothing from ProClip for this review.

I've been a ProClip phone mount fan for years, and have had one of their mounts in my last six or seven vehicles. My wife even has one in her VW Jetta.

After being highly disappointed in two phone mounts I've tried in the G70, I just happen to look on ProClip's website to see if they were offering one yet...and there it was! I ordered that baby instantly!

Keep in mind, there are two things you need: A vehicle specific mount, and a phone specific holder. I'm on my forth cell phone since I originally purchased a ProClip mount and holder, and I'm still on my first holder...meaning all I've had to buy for each car is the vehicle specific mount.

Pictures don't do this justice. This baby is solid! It fits inside the top and bottom of the vent fins, sliding the bottom leg in first, then pushing down on the top leg for tension to hold it in place. When I say the fit is perfect, I mean it's perfect. It snap into grooves in the vent area, there is tape on the bottom leg to keep it from sliding side to side, but I'd argue that this mount doesn't even need tape to stay in place. It is the best ProClip vehicle mount I've had to date! Also, the vent fins themselves still have full range of motion, both up and down, and side to side.

I mounted my phone holder to the mount, positioned it just right...and that was it! Took five minutes tops to install.

If you're looking for a super high quality mount, you'd be hard pressed to find one better, IMHO.

Phone for reference: Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

And yes, I have a picture of my G70 as the background on my phone. Don't you? HAHAHAHAHHAAA!

Blocks way to much airflow. You must live where its cold. No way you could use one of these, comfortably, in Florida. Guess we all have opinions.

I see your point. The total blockage of the passenger side vent is about half. Not that it really blocks it, more like diverts it. I'm one of those people that can stand to have air blown right in their face, so it was a non issue for me. I can see how it could be a deal breaker for someone else though. Good point.

I had the G80 version, be very aware if you use the upper vents for heat it will overheat your phone.

I got rid of the pro-clip due to that issue. Since I now have the wireless Car2Play adapter I have found no use for a dock, I just drop the phone in the Qi charger and let wireless carplay do its thing.

I've used proclip since 2005, the last few cars I have had though the mounts have been in crappy locations. the worst is the wife's Camry, just look at this design mess, it hooks to the defroster vent and is the full length of the upper dash area, vibrates and slides all over the place. even with their double sided tape (which doesn't stick to a porous dash plastics)
