  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Resale value

I would use the pickup service because the closest likely Genesis dealer is 25 minutes away, so that's an hour of time saved. A $5 tip for the driver, of course.

Not sure what you are getting at? Find what hard to believe? It's a FACT...that is what Genesis does. And I think MOST people will use it.

Why would you go to a dealer knowing they would come to your home or business?

I don't know. Free coffee? And cookie? I think the "come and pickup" deal might work for scheduled maintenance. A week, 10 days ahead with they can schedule you in? How many cars due you thing the dealer sees in one day. Probably only 1 or 2 Genesises now. IF or when the brand picks up and they see maybe 10-15, that's 10-15 loaners. A pretty costly service option. So I'm thinking this is a temporary "cookie" that might not be around next year.

I would disagree. First I doubt they have a person dedicated to just pickups. I think you are overestimating the cost.

I think you are missing the marketing value. The, valet service is a distinguishing factor. You read it in EVERY review. It’s one of the things that sets Genesis apart from its competitors.

If you sell enough cars at the right price you can support it, but don't be surprised if the guy shows up and presents you with keys to the loaner and says "sorry sir, all we had was this Vespa, but its not raining anyway" Some of us have opted to go to the dealer and wait too. We'll see down the road.

Actually you are their best type of customer. They can advertise the valet feature and market the heck out of it, but you don’t use it so it costs them virtually nothing. It’s always available though if you need it.

Of course they have to give you a current Genesis. That is why these dual Hyundai/Genesis dealers are killing the reputation.

I live about 15 minutes away from my local Hyundai/Genesis dealer (this is a MAJOR dealership in Maryland so I'm really hoping they will continue to sell Genesis) ... Anyway, I personally will be driving my G70 to the dealer to have any work done. I hate the idea of having someone else drive my car!!

Motortrend has some info on their Instagram page, they say resale after 5 years will be at 40%, estimated price 34,000-49,000, 5 star safety rating and 0-60 4.7 for 3.3 and 6.6 for 2.0

See...that is BS already. Bad info from them. We already know it does 4.5 sec per Genesis. Folks have gotten that with the Stinger...so they are predicting 4.3 or 4.4 (perhaps even 4.2) for the G70.

How annoying.

40% at 5 years would actually be pretty good but I'm not sure I believe it. If that's the case, there is absolutely no reason anyone should lease this car, because paying an additional 10-12% over two years is a hell of a lot better than paying the full 50-52% over the first three years (Canada has the residual at 51% this month so I am estimating).

If you drive like that, count on making friends at your local tire dealer.

It's a SPORTS sedan, what else are we supposed to do with it? lol

Goodyear and Chevron thanks you. Wait for me at the next stoplight and the one after that and the one after that. I'll be the one coasting in without smoke coming off my brakes.

You are very lucky...I DO have another wheelbarrow. No extra tire with this one...but I did opt for a wider tire from the get go. Wicked 0-60 in 1.2 hours. I can lease it to you...or just buy it.

I think they're quoting the 0-100 km/h figure which is quoted at 4.7 in the Canadian market. Bad conversion on their part ...

100 km/h is equivalent to 62 mph... 0-60 should be roughly a tenth or two quicker. That 2 mph makes a difference!

I get what you're saying, but these cars are meant for fun every once in a while. Especially on the AWD, why not a few 0-100mph runs? The 3.3 is a great performance engine, so why not experience it? I've been on a few tracks and I've done plenty of canyon runs in my current car, and it's one of the best adrenaline feelings ever. That's what I'm gonna miss about it once the G70 comes out, manual, V8, a lot of rubber and big brakes.
Hmm..maybe I should start researching some tunes
