G70 smart trunk issue

Hello, new to this as well as the g70.
Can someone shed some light on the lock botton in the trunk beside the auto trunk close?
Mine seems to not lock the car when pressed. Is it supposed to? Or lock the trunk?
I have a 2020 prestige model.

I read somewhere in this forum. I'm trying to find that thread but I get nothing from the search button. There is a problem with smart trunk in early 2020 MY cars, the problem is solved by a software update.

Ok i will messge the dealership and see what there thoughts are. Was hoping to avoid going there again as the car is only 2 weeks old!

Are you standing at the trunk with the key in your pocket? If so the trunk latch will still open the trunk regardless if the doors are locked or not.

Issues/problems with the G70

Well, sorry I haven't posted an update till now. I'm still waiting on the new headliner to come in. Was told around the 23rd of this month. I guess my cream headliner is harder to source than originally planned. I'm seriously looking into no-lemon action if this doesn't work. Going on three...

@danygenesis - thanks very much for your commitment to searching that for me!
I can also verify that it is correct. Spoke with my sales rep and same response different works.
Hope the software will be released soon. I bought the 2.0T prestige model because it had Everything minus dual exhaust and the V6. Was irritated that it wasnt working but it will soon enough!

Im confused. Do the 2019 3.3T Sport editions have the smart trunk opening? The brochure indicates that all models come with the smart trunk feature but the salesman told me it doesn't.

The original poster for this thread has a 2020 model and I assume he is in Canada where those models are now available. He is referring to a button INSIDE the trunk that can lock doors as well.
I believe the smart trunk, that can be checked in the instrument cluster menu to open when the fob is close to the trunk for a few seconds, is for all 2019 versions. 2020 is not in the US yet so not aware of features.

How would that work? Do they supply the closer button for the deck lid. More info on this would be nice but it’s Shark Racing so nuf said.

Its one of those thing that nobody needs but you'd miss it if you no longer had it. Spoiled we've become. Sort of like, Wi-Fi down? No problem I'll just plug into my 300 baud modem.

Its one of those things you really don't need. Its one of those things that one you have it you'd want it in every car after.
