  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any word on when the G70 will receive the new V6? I actually thought it would happen in 2021.... clearly a mistake.

I remember reading somewhere about the new engine. The GV80 got it.... while the G70 keeps using the 3.3T. I wonder if it makes sense for Genesis to produce two engines so similar in terms of size.

My hunch is the 3.3 will discontinue at some point. Genesis may have lots of engines and or parts still available for the 3.3 they will not want to waste so they will probably attempt a cut-over when on hand supply dictates. The engines are similar enough it makes me no difference, but the duel fuel injection process on the 3.5 will fix the carbon build up issues pure direct injection causes so that alone makes that engine nice.

It is a shame the 2022 model year in the US isn't getting the 2.5 and 3.5 engines, this really would have been an upgrade, better gas mileage and power could make a great car even better!

The duel injection on the Smartstream 3.5T is definitely nice, but how is the reliability? Lambda II is a proven engine, but the Smartstream just came out, I assume Lambda II would be more reliable.
