G80 2021 3.5 Prestige Problem Constantly!! (Air Hose Intake & Sunroof)

There’s been problems after problems since I got this car in July 2021



10/5- Shreveport

1-Recall for Radiator-Tank

2- sunroof got check for creaking sound

I received car back & had a loud whistle noise from engine, due to air hose intake leak.

10/13- Shreveport

1- got service for engine car bc of the whistle noise bc air hose intake is leaking, & they fix it

2 -sunroof still make creaking sound



-Lafayette
had to reschedule me 2X Dec 7,13, & took a whole month of December to get an appt

1/6- Lafayette had my vehicle from 1/6–2/18 for the sunroof to be replace. But they Did not change oil as I told them too.



3/17- Shreveport service & got a loaner

1- got a oil change

2- received car back & my car made whistling sound again, which is from the loose air hose intake again. Because the technician didn’t put the clamp back on the hose.



3/18- Received a voicemail from the Shreveport service manager saying I damaged the loaner car, try to get me to pay $500 for something. But they had drove it back 1 1/2 hour back to the dealership & then accused me of it. They should’ve inspect it when they picked the vehicle up.

4/13- got a voicemail from Shreveport saying that I will hear from their attorney soon bc of the damages.

4/13- I contacted them after then the service manager apologize for misunderstanding

4/22- . Got car valet to Lafayette dealership to lube up my Sunroof bc of creak. & to fix a panel thats near the sunroof that was loose bc it wasn’t install properly. & to fix the air hose intake.

But then Lafayette refuse to service loose air intake hose due to missing clamp. bc they weren’t the one that work on it. So they return my vehicle.



5/20-Got on the phone with genesis affair & they told me Lafayette an fix the air hose intake, they came & valet my vehicle to Lafayette. Then they contactsd me & refused to service it again!





Since then I’ve Contacted Genesis Consumer affair & 6/14 genesis consumer affair told me that they can get me a gift car for $500 & get it fix. The Air hose intake system it’s over $500 and that’s not including labor. So I refuse to do that.



6/23-Genesis consumer affair contacted me and said Shreveport will order the part and it should be in by 6/28.

*Let me remind y’all that every time my car gets valet to the dealership, it’s 1 1/2 hour away.

*Shreveport-121 Miles

*Lafayette-100 Miles

Did not think Genesis would Valet car that distance. Looks like the technician at Shreveport not a Genesis trained tech. This bothers me because when I drive out to Roswell NM (from FL) I pass both
Lafayette and Shreveport.

Have not checked my air intake hose and clamps. Looks very difficult to get at. Should be two hoses as there are two air filters.
The only “air hose” I know of is the one that must be moved when changing the oil filter. (Terrible location for an oil filter on the G80
3.5 engine)

(You can always set your problems to music and sell it to a Country Music Station).

It seems that you have had a few problems, but your biggest problem seems to be poor service, your car is under warranty and you should not have to pay anything for warranty repair. I take there are only these two dealerships you can take your car to otherwise I would be looking for another dealership with better service.
Any Genesis dealership should be able to perform warranty work regardless of another dealership botching the job.
The only thing I have seen where another dealership may reused to do warranty work is where there might be paint finish, wheel or glass issue. In this case they may refer you back to the dealership that you purchased the car from.
