  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2019 G80 with 65,000 miles. I took it in for service because of a slight “shudder” at low RPMs when accelerating from a complete stop. It would disappear after a second or two. The service department advised I needed new spark plugs, 3 new coils and recommended fuel injector cleaning. They were “almost certain” that would fix the problem. Well, it did not. Now they’re saying there’s an “ internal fault” in the transfer case and that will cost $5000. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the trouble shooting and the service adviser said he would reach out to Genesis and “open a case” to see if “there can be any warranty applied”. Seems like a long shot but thought I’d ask on here if anyone has any experience with something similar?

Curious if they can do anything on the warranty. Are you the first owner?

Not sure why they would think spark plugs would cause this. And they should change all 6 (or 8) of them.

Some people have reported success from just changing the fluid in the transfer case.
