  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all,

I purchased a 2018 G90 Ultimate last weekend and I have spent the better part of the past few days trying to get the entertainment system to play movies/videos off of a USB stick. I have used Handbrake etc. to convert videos to various different file types.
I have tried converting the videos to MP4, AVI and MKV and it always comes up with "the file is damaged or unsupported."

I have also tried using 3 different types of USB sticks with no luck.

Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix? Do I need to convert videos to a certain format or use a specific USB stick?

Please let me know what has worked for you, I have run out of ideas entirely.

On my '21 G90, I've had success with H.264 Baseline Profile 3.1.

Thank you for the quick response!

I tried the H.264 Baseline 3.1 settings for a few different videos and unfortunately it is still telling me the files are damaged or unsupported.

I have even tried formatting the USB sticks in both FAT32 and exFAT.

It's driving me crazy at this point, are there other handbrake presets/settings I should be taking into account?

I took a usb drive, dragged an mp4 video from my computer on to the stick, shoved it in my usb in the car, pressed the USB video button on the screen and it worked fine. So, not sure what's up with yours. I'm pretty sure mine is a 32gb sandisk.
