Same message received in Ontario. However, there are added features to make the 2020 model different than 2019. I will update everyone once I have more detailsGot off the phone with a Genesis dealer here in Alberta. They said the 2020 G80 model is possibly the same model as a 2019 just like Albertini's dealer said... with the redesign coming in 2021. Tho he wasn't exactly sure.
So maybe the dealers know something that we and all the auto bloggers don't?
Maybe we should all prepare ourselves for the redesign to still be over a year away.
Thanks for the link. I'll post in there about this.
Most likely the 2020 is identical to 2019 model as per my salesman with only added featuresThere were none between the 2018 and 2019, hopefully they did something for 2020.
What Lambda III 3.5T engine? I don't think they are making another V6 performance engine yet. The 3.3TT is quite new and the last V6 was the 3.8L Atkinson Cycle engine for their bigger Kia and Hyundai SUVs.Most likely the 2020 is identical to 2019 model as per my salesman with only added features
I have decode the VIN of my new 2020 G80 sport and found that it's the same engine as 2019 instead of the new 3.5T Lambda III engine which supposely equipe on the redesign G80.
Therefore, 2020 G80 will be the same exterior as 2019 model
They are the only ones talking about it so I doubt it is true. Can't see the Asian automakers going bigger. The 2.5t may be a possibility for an intermediate engine between the 2.0t and the 3.3tt.I don't know how reliable they are but a number of different car sites have reported/speculated that the 3.3t will be replaced with the 3.5T Lambda III. Here is the Korean car blog.

It's know that Hyundai has been working on a new Lambda 3.5T engine for sometime now. There was speculation that probably they will be using them on the 2020 G80 and the GV80What Lambda III 3.5T engine? I don't think they are making another V6 performance engine yet.
