  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I was entering a driveway that had a steep incline for a few feet then dipped back down. The car scraped it somewhere around the middle and now I’ve noticed a gas like smell. I only notice from inside the car really. It’s not really pungent but it’s definitely noticeable. It just happened and I’m really busy this week, so I don’t know when I can get it checked out. Just looking under the car I didn’t notice any leaks. Any idea what this might be or am I being paranoid.

Usually the fuel lines and fuel filter are protected and hidden alongside a frame rail. I don't even know where the fuel filter is on the Genesis but normally you can't hurt them by scraping a driveway. If you can smell the gas, usually its a leak inside the engine bay itself and gas is pooling on top of a heatshield etc. That's pretty dangerous because it can cause a fire.
