If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Everytime i filled up my gasoline tank, it always overflow even before the gas pump shut off automatically. I know it's the pumps auto sensor but the pump should sense it before it overflows. I think it's the shape of the Genesis gasoline tank funnel. Even the overflow hole cannot accomodate the gasoline overflow sometimes because it's too much. To resolve this issue I usually hold the gas pump manually rather than to put the gas pump in an auto clip fill. Dont get me wrong I love my Genesis. Any similar experiences out there Genesis owners?

My problem is just the opposite. When I go to fill up my car the pump will shut off before the tank is full. To get the tank full, which is about another 3 gallons, I have to keep clicking the nozzle on and off many times as the pump keeps shutting off every few seconds. It's terribly frustrating. It has nothing to do with how shallow or deep the nozzle is in the filler neck, nor at what angle the nozzle is, or how fast the fuel is flowing. I suspect the vent line is plugged but that is just a guess.

I had an overflow on fill up today, but I blame myself,

the goal should be to "seat" the rubber boot to the funnel.
The nozzle has a bead to hook it in the funnel but it wasn't far enough down to force the rubber boot to meet the funnel. I got back in the car (did I mention it was -5) and watched, overflow happened, I jumped out to stop the pump.

If the boot doesn't seat on the funnel , hand hold the pump.....

There have been other posts about this issue in the past. I've experienced splashing mostly. UNTIL I inserted the nozzle twisted slightly toward the front of the car. It seems to grab closer to the plastic splash guard on the nozzle.

I agree with Gold Z about the vent line. I had a very similar problem with a VW I use to own. It took the dealership months but they finally found that the vent line was kinked and when it was fixed I never had the problem again.

As for my Genesis, it kicks off very close to full, I can hardly top off any additional fuel after it shuts off. I am impressed since it seems the same at different gas stations not just the same pump/station for all fills. My last car would usually take another 1/2 to 3/4 of a gallon.
