  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My current lease is up in Sept. I have a few questions:

1) Can I order a car to the spec I want
2) If yes to ^, how long does that build take from order to delivery
3) If Im able to order now, or get a car in sept, will it be a 2020 at that point?

Best to talk to your dealer about that. I don't think anyone here knows for sure when the 2020 will go on sale in the US. If you want a 2020 you may want to ask about a lease extension if they will not be on sale until later.

Really? Wowzers! I am glad I am in Canada for this one, my 2020 G80 should be delivered in couple weeks :)

There is a thread on "ordering" in the U.S. Thus far, it seems to have generally consisted of "ordering/working with" your local dealer to locate the exact, but already built car, in the U.S.--either en route to another dealership, or at port, or in trade to another dealer.
I got my car--by interrupting a shipment that was headed to a different dealer.
Other alternative is to locate the car you want in the U.S. on-line and then make a deal with the dealer that has that car--either flying/driving out to the car or having it shipped to you. The thread on ordering has several different options that various forum members have gone thru.
Not sure the dealers currently have insight on September yet--but that is a good place to start. The 2020s will hopefully be out by then--pretty sure we have "rumors" that 2019s are done being manufactured, but Genesis had brought in a bunch of 2019s, at ports, waiting for approval of dealerships so they could be distributed.
Over the next several months is probably a terrific time to make a deal on a 2019--and not much difference anticipated between the 2019 and 2020.

I tried looking for that thread as I thought I had seen it before. Apologies if in the wrong place, mods please move if necessary. Thank you for all the information though!
