  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Blue link as upgraded their service to 5G and I’m not able to get the upgrade. I can’t start my car and cool or heat it in less I leave my doors unlocked, or us my manual key. I don’t like popping the cover in order to get to the manual lock. What are my options, if there are any?

Do not think they went to 5G. If you have a 3G setup in your car, Genesis is discontinuing the 3G service due to 3G being shut down by the service provider (Verizon). The vehicles without 3G are all running 4G LTE. Not really sure what you mean by needing to leave your car door unlocked or use the manual key. Your key fob should still work as should your map. Only thing you lose is the remote services and emergency services. Only way to get remote services is to add a remote starter system from a third-party service. If your key fob is not working, then you probably should check the battery.

Remote starter. Do a search and you will see a couple of threads about it. No reason to use the manual lock.

My 2015 will not lock doors with the remote while car is idling. I have tried several times. Perhaps, there’s a difference between the 2015 and the 2018? And, key fobs are working perfectly. No problem when car not running. Wasn’t a problem when I had blue link.

Thanks, I will search remote starters.

I will have to find someone to put the remote starter on, dealer probably won’t do it?

Correct. I did read someone got one installed by Best Buy. The vehicle will not lock with the engine running. At least on my GV80, the only way to have the vehicle running (unless started with the app) is to have the key fob in the vehicle. With the key fob in the vehicle, you cannot lock the door.

My gf leaves her key in her purse when we go somewhere and it just takes a few clicks on my remote to lock the doors. It "refuses" at first then goes ahead and locks

She leaves her purse in the car?

She leaves her purse in the car?
sometimes
not on the dashboard though (most of the time in the trunk)
:)
Same here. I joke with her that she makes a production out of putting it in the trunk when we get there so that everyone will know where to find it. (This did bite here once many years ago when someone must have seen her do it, because as soon as she was out of sight they broke in and took it.)
