  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G90
I lease a 2017 Genesis G90 Ultimate 5.0 that is 60 days to lease end. I am considering buying my leased vehicle and am considering getting the dealer to CPO my car which has 30,000 miles with new tires. Does anyone know what the dealer should charge me to CPO my vehicle. Don't know what Genesis charges the dealer for the CPO warranty so have no idea what a fair price should be to have my car CPO'd. I live in Florida which does not allow Genesis Finance to sell me my vehicle direct so I must "buy" it from a dealer. Any input is most appreciated as it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone at Genesis Finance end of lease purchase department.
Thanks,
Steve

Hard to say, especially since dealerships vary so much in their pricing for everything. For comparison, I got an extended, full bumper to bumper 5 year, 60,000 mile warranty for less than $3k - note that it was negotiable, just like everything else in the world. Maybe that helps you a little bit.

Appreciate you taking the time to respond. My car has a full bumper to bumper 5 year, 60k mile warranty already. The CPO program provides a 6 year, 75k mile warranty along with the 10 year 100k engine/trans etc., coverage and is a program from Genesis which I believe became available in 2019. That is the program that I am trying to determine the cost of as Genesis sponsors this program.

I understand.... no problem. Just please note that I said "extended". Which in my case was added on to the original warranty to be 10 years and/or 120k miles.

ps: all values have been translated from the Canadian to the US system. :)

Man, I have CPO 2019 and I have looked at the details of contract, and it's not that great. Genesis gives themselves legal ability to essentially not repair anything that can't unequivocally be seen as a covered part failure ( the CPO is mostly for covering extreme issues with specific parts). Eg, if you have any issue concerning a legitimate vehicle or part adjustment, they wont' do it. Like a door, or trunk, or interior issues. They pretty much give themselves all the legal cover they need not cover any interior issue should they so choose not to for whatever reason. Radio blows up? Yes. Weird stuff with plastics, or leather? No, not really. Crazy or insane noises in AC or Sunroof or anywhere. Nope. Etc. Read that part carefully before you pay for something that may not be not worth it.

Based on my research with CPO warranties, the coverage is usually vague and short because the CPO exists to sell cars and provide dealer markup, and instant cash vs. possible or unlikely payouts many years down the road. It's usually much more of a marketing tool than it is a valid service. IMO.

I have a CPO 2019 G80 with sports package and Genesis replaced the windshield washer pump. It took a few hours and covered under warranty.
