As you have probably heard, Hyundai Motor North America said Thursday that new Hyundai electric vehicles in the U.S. will come with the NACS port starting in 2024’s fourth quarter. It will begin in Canada in the first half of 2025. Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, will also start using the NACS ports.
Owners of existing Hyundai electric vehicles with the CCS charging port will have access to the Tesla Supercharging Network starting in the first quarter of 2025 when Hyundai will offer an adapter to these customers. Kia expects to have adapters available at its dealers, also in 2025’s first quarter.
What's missing from this is when Tesla will update it's charging system software to allow Hyundai/Kia/Genesis EV's to use the system. If Tesla can do this prior to 2025, there will be third party Tesla Supercharger to CCS adaptors available probably by 1st or 2nd quarter of 2024 (A2Z EV, a Canadian company is now field testing such an adapter).
