  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My closest dealer:

I made a very good deal, so would give sales 3 out of 5
Sales advisor who brought me the car, I'd give 5 out of 5
I bought the car used, with 40 miles on the clock: dealer did full brake job, plus changed oil and filter, which made the car equal to a CPO (without the warranty), I'd give them a 5 out of 5.

Due to the virus shutdown, I have had almost no dealership experience (other than helping my step-son buy a car a few months ago; he was looking at Hyundais, ended up with a Honda, a better fit for him)...anyone here have any feedback on this dealer (part of the Oxmoor group)?

I'm curious...it was used, but only had 40 miles on it? Had it been previously titled? Why change the oil at 40 miles? Brakes I can see, as there is a TSB on that.

Car was initially sold Aug 1, 2019...I was told, to a Genesis Distgrict Manager. It was titled, as GA (state of original sale), apparently requires it (other states, CA and KY for example, allow the use of Dealer or Mfr tags). For whatever reason, it was not driven more than 40 miles ...resulting in rust forming on the rotors, hence the brake job. As the car was 8 months old, dealer chose to replace the oil now, rather than later.

I had been looking at another car at another dealership: same age, with only 100 miles, this being driven by the dealership GM, and not titled. I don't know what pre-sale service was performed on that vehicle.

However, since my selling dealer chose to go that extra mile, I give them a 5 out of 5 on pre-delivery service.

Interesting note: the TSB you refer to (I think you mean 18-01-005-G? Brake Pulsation) requires only the front rotors be resurfaced and only if pulsation is noted....my dealer chose to resurface and replace brakes on all 4 wheels, and no evidence of pulsation was noted on checklist).

I've only driven the car more than 5 minutes twice since I've owned it and did not detect any pulsation (that driving was highly "spirited", but only braking to adjust entry speed; not braking to a crawl, what the TSB notes).
