  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any Genesis Sedan owners have a 2012 burning oil? No evidence of leak. Also no oil on hot engine parts smoking.

How many miles on the engine? How much is it using? It is normal for older engines to use some oil as they wear. Here is some opinion

150 miles. Burning a quart about every thousand miles.

Yeah, imho that is too much oil after too few miles. My last cars were at about a half quart in six thousand miles at 250K miles, and at least half of that was a leak from the front timing cover gaskets.

The last two cars that I had with about 125K used close to that maybe 1200 to 1500 miles tops. Both were GM cars.
Don't ask me about my first car, a '53 Mercury flathead. I always kept a couple of quarts with me.

Here is an old thread with an overload of information. Some of the early 2012 5.0L models had oil consumption issues. Seems this was corrected late in the 2012 production, but I do not remember the exact date the issue was fixed.
