Notwithstanding the 48V, supercharged 3.5TT in the G90 (which, hopefully, will make its way to other Genesis models), Genesis should rethink its strategy of largely eschewing hybrids as hybrids should remain a popular powertrain for quite some time longer.
This can be seen in HMG's strategy regarding its mainstream brands, where pretty much every Hyundai and Kia model will get a hybrid variant, if not 2.
The hybrid Carnival (if it hasn't already) is about to go into production and there is a report coming out of Korea that Hyundai is in the process of developing the next gen Palisade with 2 hybrid powertrains, as well as a turbo V6 (3.5L).
Stated all along that HMG needed to hybridize the 2.5L and that seems to be happening; we likely will see a hybridized 2.5T which (with some changes) would be perfect for the non-full size Genesis models.
