  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So, I tried a hack from yt for turbo noise by disconnecting the bov recirculation hose and I forgot to plug the hose from the bov side and left it hanging and drove for a few miles and then when I realized I saw some dust in the hose not alot but some and now im worried about the turbos being damaged. Did I mess up the engine or turbos?

Which side did you leave open, the hose coming from the BOV or the nipple on the intake?

Both bovs, i disconnected the bov but left the hose connected to the air intakes to the turbo, and forgot to plug it from that cheap hack and drove like a mile or 2 in the community and when I came back there was some dust in the pipe not alot but definitely noticeable, I haven't had issues but I'm worried about the turbo being damaged.

I tried cleaning most of it out but not sure if it's too late

Unless that mile or two was in the middle of a sand storm you should be okay. A dirty air filter would probably let more than that in the system over time... Cap it off and call it good.

Ahh thanks man such a relief, I was so worried I kept asking many ppl and they all said it's not bad, just one more thing does the dealership inspect the turbos and pipes on service?

Yes. They open the hood, look down and "yep, it has a turbo", then close the hood.

Ahh so they don't really check, sorry I'm not sure if you were saying in a joking way or they actually check them. Thanks

I've had a few turbo cars. All they ever did was look under the hood. Never touched one.
