If you insert the old SD card, it will pull the old maps and navigation options. Other than that, there is no way to go back

EDIT: I have found how to do the update. My question is now, is it worth it to upgrade on a 2015 3.8 genesis if i dont use the built in GPS? I only use apple carplay for GPS.

If you are not using it the only benefit is if you are selling the car you can tell buyers it is up to date.

You do get more roads and POIs but if CP does what you need, to much reason to do it.

I got an SD card for 8 bucks so just going to update it. Thanks for the response.

Some 2015 models require a software upgrade, so you have to purchase your initial update for about $30 and then they are free afterward. There are other things included in the upgrade, not just the maps. $30 to have this delivered with an SD card and USB drive is very reasonable. Future updates are free by download.

Has anybody had problems installing the map update software to their PC? This and H&R Block tax software are the only software that won't install on my laptop: i7, 16GB ram, 1GB SSD, Win 10 Lenovo. I even created a new account that would have virgin registry, turned off the firewall & antivirus. Tried running as admin. Nothing! It just sat there and would not install. I have a win 7 PC I built years ago that is real basic and hasn't been updated because not used. Installed fine.
