  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Too many details to go into. Beware - service after sale is not what you would expect after genesis purchase.

ok - details:
began day of purchase.
Spiel - you have won gift certificates. Sorry we are out. We will get them to you.
2 weeks - I call - where are the certificates?
Who are you - name, etc.
Ok we will get them to you as we do not have them now.
november : ditto.
visit dealership - manager is not in, can not verify - do not have - will get back to you....take name, info again
dec: ditto
jan ditto visit dealership - service, ditto
feb ditto
mar ditto - told manager I would never purchase a car from them again - have my mind set on 2014 R-Spec.
It is not the amount - it is the principle - I bought a car -price immaterial - you promised me something - you didn't deliver - what makes me think you will treat me any differently on service or anything else.
enough for you?

Too few details to be credible. Beware!

I agree. This is like a sniper attack, while providing our members nothing of value.

I don't see this as a sniper attack. Unfortunately, its also nothing new. There's a reason car purchase contracts say "This contract supersedes any and all verbal offers" - the salesman will promise you anything verbally to get the sale knowing full well that he cannot deliver. As long as its not in the written contract he is off the hook. This is the same at every car dealership I have ever dealt with. Of course, some dealerships are slimier than others...

Generalizations trouble me. I have experienced bottom-of-the-bilge pump slime at dealers, and at others, have been treated like family. I'd do understand the OP's frustration. But the paintbrush he's using is too wide.

I'd understand his frustration more if he actually gave some details. Did they promise him $20 off his first oil change? A cert for a Grand Slam breakfast at Denny's? Or something more substantial?

Nothing in his post to warrant my understanding.

I purchased from Automax also and it has been the worst purchasing experience i have EVER had. I sold Acura's for close to 5 yrs and never saw any crap like this place...

1. Day of pickup - 65 more miles on the car than when i signed the purchase order to buy the car. Sales person was supposed to take keys and put a "Sold" sign on the car.. That didn't happen.

2. Car was filthy (outside). You could have grown potato's on the engine of this car. Finger prints all over the outside. smudges all over the glass and some kind of film/haze covering the inside of the windshield. Sales person promised me another "detailing" of the car. I declined because i do a much better job..

3. Finance guy tries to sell me all kind of junk that i don't want without asking. The purchase order is almost $2700 more than the one i signed from adding: extended warranty, dent monkey, gap and other crap.

4. My credit union issued me a check for $35K. with my trade and cash down i only needed to give the dealership 34 and some change.. I was told they would call the CU and see if it was ok for them to issue me money back.. They never called my CU.. After about 20 calls, i finally get a guy that promises to call me back. He tells me that the check has been requested and they are just waiting for the owners to come in and sign the check. A week later the check is still unsigned and sitting in their business office. A week after that i call to check and was told they sent the check to my CU.. That when i found out the never called the CU.

5. I was also promised a gift from a list of stuff they had circulating around. I let the wife choose. Every week she asks where her gift is.. Every week i answer "i don't know". Every week i call and ask and no one knows anything.

6. I was pulled over for the state inspection being expired.. WHAT!! who ever did the initial inspection put the numbers on the sticker wrong. they had it where the sticker expired 5 of 4 instead of 4 of 5. Had to drive an hour to get this fixed. Then argue that new cars get a 2 yr state inspection..

Please don't purchase from here.. You will def regret it!!

I dont understand bow many people you may influnce here with this. Not many people in killeen and most are military. If you have a problem with them and your in the military report to chain of command. Let them deal with it.

As far as inspection sticker go anywhere else as long as it wss never registered before you you can get a 2 yr sticket.

Im not trying to influence anyone on here because most of the people that may read this already own a car.. I just wanted to co-sign on what the OP was saying.

My dealings with this dealership were also negative. They are about a 40 mile drive from my house. At this point in our car search, we had only driven a new 3.8 RWD about 2 miles. This dealer had ( all used ) a 3.8 RWD, a 3.8 AWD and a 5.0. Great chance to drive all 3 versions one after the other, and decide what to focus on. Called ahead to be sure all cars were actually there. Made appointment to come the next day. All three cars filthy ( don't ya want to impress so I might buy? ). The 5.0 & the 3.8 AWD felt like each had a tire badly out of balance. The 5.0 had a dead battery & had to be jump started. The 3.8 RWD was so low on gas, they weren't sure we'd make it to the station to put a few gallons in. Because of the rough ride in the 5.0 & the AWD, couldn't really determine which we might like better. About a week later called to say we were interested in the AWD, but needed to drive it with balanced tires. Salesperson says he'd get that taken care of & we made appointment for the next day. Drove out there again, and car hadn't been touched. Said the car could be ready in maybe 3 hours. Wasn't gonna wait around. So 80 miles round trip for nothing. About a week later, the salesman calls to tell me the car is running smooth if I want to come by and drive it. REALLY! So I tell him about a concern I have about the car. it's a 2016 with 10,000 miles on it. Why is it not CPO? He says getting it certified CPO is no problem & it will be done by the next day. I asked him to give me a call when that happens. That call never came.
