  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a quote of $40,700 on a new rspec +dealer fee + TTL in writing.
Does that sound like a reasonable number to you guys?
Think I can beat em up more?

I plan on shopping that around several other dealers too, just wondered how that number compares to what others have paid.

The rebates and incentives are included in that number

I paid 39,500 for mine that was in Laurel Maryland. Its a 2013 Silver R spec, if you need more info let me know. I was treated decent, they do have a red one there on the show room floor as I type.

You should check the rebate details. I believe one is for financing through Hyundai and the other is for a current Hyundai owner. At least that is what the dealer in Evansville has available.

im sitting on over 800k wi with delta so i dont mind flying somewhere to pick one up.
i figure i would bounce that number off several other dealers and see what they do.

The financing from hyundai is better than what i can get at my credit union, so i will likely do it with hyundai.
I will be trading an 09 xle V6 camry, so that should count toward the competitor rebate.

Thank you for the insight.

Think i can get them to to 40,700 inc the 10 yr bumper to bumper warranty? Or am I asking too much?

I don't get it...how can you get that price when the base for R-Spec starts at $47,000?

I think thats right in the ballpark of what you can get from them, TrueCar pulls up $40,994 for my area with the $1500 customer loyalty rebate included in the price. Finance through Hyundai and that is another $1500, but make sure to read the fine print of their offer (I think it states a minimum of 6 months or a year financing through them). They also have a military discount and one other but cant recall what it is.

true car sent me a guaranteed savings certificate for that price at 3 dealerships.

the $47k price is the msrp. NEVER pay the MSRP. Always try to be below invoice.

Dealers can sell below invoice because of something called holdback. On Hyundais, it is 3% that the distributor pays back to the seller to cover expenses like keeping the lights on, advertising, and other overhead.

Sometimes a dealer will sell a car at a slight loss to steal a sale from another dealer. Usually this happens at the end of the month when they are trying to get their numbers.

The only things i am seeing on the financing are 1.9 for 36,48&60 mo or 2.9 for 72 mo.
and the $1500 competitive owner cash if you own a competing vehicle.
I did not see any other non-lease deals.

Of course the financing allegedly ends tonight, so we will see what comes tomorrow.

How are you going to fly to get a car and trade in your Toyota too?? BTW, the price you've been quoted is about right. Doubt you're going to get a 10 year bumper to bumper thrown in, but it can't hurt to take a swing.

I guess i was too blinded by the new shiny car to think about that part.
I will probably just sell it privately, which is what i really should do, but i save the taxes on the trade in part of it.

Cars.com every time. You will lose money trading it in, regardless of the savings on the tax portion. Or be like me, lazy, and just give it to the dealership for about $1500 less than it's worth... :)

cool, this just started today

"Low APR 1.9% financing for up to 60 mos, 2.9 for 72mos PLUS $500 Bonus Cash (3/1/2013 - 4/1/2013)"

the bonus cash was not there yesterday!

Might be getting my gennie sooner than i thought.

I'm in Canada so we're talking apples to oranges here, but Hyundai Canada has a final clearout on the 2012 R-Spec sedan at a $10,000 discount. You might want to check current inventory in your area to gauge whether or not Hyundai USA will offer a similar clearout on 2012 models

Regular MSRP in Canada is just over $53,000 -- so I bought mine last weekend for $43,000. I did spend an extra $2,000 on extended warranty to make comprehensive coverage at 8 years/140,000 km -- just in case I decide to sell it after 4 or 5 years, but I doubt I will.

There's no way I'll find anything brand new 5 years down the road with 429 HP for $43,000

there was a deal for $5k off a 2012 genesis, but it seems to have disappeared, at least temporarily.
I have searched approximately a 500mi radius of me inc Tampa, Orlando, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, Birmingham, Mobile, Tallahassee, New Orleans and there are no 2012 5.0 v8's (rspec or not) to be had.

I did find a 4.6 though.

I kinda like the idea that they changed the Nav/entertainment system on the 2013s. The 64gb HD is appealing. I think all the music I own is maybe 10gb. The screen is a little larger, and hopefully it doesnt crash as much as the earlier styles (although that doesnt happen to everyone)

10k off would probably push me into a 2012, thats a ton of money.

The deals will only get sweeter throughout the year as Hyundai pushes it's dealers to remove inventory for the 1st generation Genesis... The closer the FMC and release date gets the better. Dealers don't want to be stuck with leftover models after the FMC (provided it's received well, and Hyundai has a successful launch).

if i could only see what the next gen will look like, my decision would be easier.

If it looks like the prototype they unveiled at the car show, ill be getting the 2013. If it looks like a further refined genesis, i may wait.
