Hasn't posted much yet...
I returned my 2011 3.8 Genesis with Tech last Thursday and replaced it with a 2014 Infiniti Q50. I drove the Genesis for 34 months and 23,000 miles (I work from home, so my daily commute is 0). The Genesis was the best car I've owned with the exception of an 04 CLK55AMG (a whole different animal).
I was working with a number of dealerships on 2013 and 2014 Genesis with Tech, but I couldn't get the numbers to where I wanted them. I Also knew I would get buyer's remorse with all the goodies added to the 2015 in August.
I got a premium black/wheat RWD Q50 with the below packages and options. The MSRP was a whopping $50,580. I'm leasing it for 39 months/10,000 miles per year.
I've only put about 200 miles on the Q so far. The car is smaller than the Genesis and feels nimbler, but it also feels a bit more jittery. The technology features are phenomenal and are the main reason why I decided to buy it.
A few observations so far,
Exterior: The Q looks very sharp with the LED DRL and fogs. It looks even better at night with the Illuminated Kick Plates and Infiniti Welcome Lighting. I really like the LED high/low even though I'm partial to Xenon. I'm not 100% sold on the body shape yet, I think the Genesis is one of the best looking cars around.
Interior: The car looks very nice inside, on par with the Genesis. I find the Q seats more comfortable at this point, but this might change after a long trip. The seats are heated and ventilated, but not cooled. I've also noticed more road and wind noise in the Q than what I was used to with the Genesis.
Performance: The Q has a 3.7 V6 making 328 HP and 269 lb/ft torque mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission. It accelerates very well and I love the growl of the engine. Subjectively, it feels quicker, but the Genesis is heavier and bigger. I never had complaints on how the Genesis accelerated.
Technology: There isn't really a comparison between my 2011 Genesis and the Q50. A few areas of note are the blind spot, lane departure, forward collision prevention, and direct adaptive steering (DAS). I'm not sure how much I like DAS yet, but it came in very handy when driving with cross wind on the highway.
If there is interest, I'll report back in a few months, once I've had the chance to drive the car longer.
