V9 of the maps, I have maps version 7.43.43. I have no idea how much of an upgrade that would be, and naturally a v9.5 for full price comes next month. The email came from hmausa.com but the map update site is mapnsoft.com. And it's "in home only", not sure how that would work
 
I got the same offer; it appears to legit. I almost pulled the trigger until I saw the reference to 9.5 (as you mention).
