  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Being a hugh fan of GPS guidance and large displays, I wanted the tech package for my Genesis. Purchased car on Monday 2/2/2009 and took my first 9 hour trip on Friday. I have noticed several minor issues with not locking onto the road that I am on but I considered that issue minor. It seems to correct itself at the next intersection but I will keep an eye on it's performance. However, I have found the compass needle in the upper left corner of the screen to be wrong most of the time when driving in Heading Up mode rather than North Up mode. I have traveled several miles on one heading while the compass points either 90 degress off or 180 degrees off or just whatever it wants to point to. I consider this display error unsat since I tend to drive allot in this mode and would like to know what direction I am heading in generally. I know there is a compass display on the mirror but why display the wrong information and require a scan of another source when the information in the gps is more accurate. Has any other owners observed this display error?

After posting this observation, I have finally figured out that the display is correct. What is wrong is my way of reading the scale. The pointer has two colored ends (one is red and the other is blue). The red end (just like a compass needle) always point north. I was wrong with thinking that it pointed the magnetic direction I was heading. Thus, this post and poster is incorrect and the GPS display is correct.
