  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The GPS in my 2009 has been faultless over 43,000 miles until last evening. I stopped at a srore for a few minutes. When I restarted the car, the steering wheel did not come down, but did adjust with the switch. I did not notice right then, but the GPS latched on to a location about 5 miles west of where I sat and not near any road.

A mile or so later, I stopped at a light and noticed that the GPS had me sitting in the middle of a lake. The bread crumbs showed the right track profile, starting out in the boondocks and continued following all of my turns for the rest of that trip. Turning the car off and back on when arriving at a restaurant did not correct the GPS location.

The car sat at a restaurant for several hours and the GPS came up with the correct location when I started the car. It has worked well this morning.

I suspect a computer glitch at startup may have caused these problems.

Lost link to a satellite is most likely the cause. My phone's gps will do the samething sometimes.
It takes a minimum of three satellites to give correct GPS location.

Had the same problem the other day. I was apparently driving IN San Francisco Bay for about 8 miles. Worked fine the next day.
