If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello All,

I have a 2009 3.8 with the premium package. I saw this 2010 at my local dealership and was curious if this navigation can be added easily to my car too. please look at the link and scroll through the pictures to what I mean.

The car looks does not have the tech package but there is a screen for the nav that looks to be OEM. Comments?

Does anyone know if anything beside the head unit screen is required? (besides a backup camera if I so choose to add that too). I'm curious if this would be a direct plug-in to the current basic premium package head unit.

Thanks.

I may be able to save some people some time researching this.
After posting this thread, I discovered some valuable information on https://www.hyundaitechinfo.com/

I found the component info for both the unit I have (2009 model) and the 2010 "AVN monitor" audio system. It appears that not on the monitor is required but even getting the head unit (the unit where the CDs are installed) replacement that would go with the new monitor, the connections are different. Seems as though the wiring harness would also need to be changed too...which potentially includes items up to the steering wheel.
Certainly this is not a process that would be as easy as I initially thought.

I don't know if anyone else has other information that would be helpful.

I was hoping for a simple (and cheaper) way to get NAV without purchasing the UNAVI system that is built into the car. I guess I'll stick with the Garmin for now. :(

The only after-market Nav for the Genesis that I know about is UNAVI. I would stick with a Garmin that has free quarterly updates (and can be purchased for about $125).

The pic in your link is no longer available (car sold) but unless it is a UNAVI, then the screen you saw is just the text OEM display for the audio system, and does not handle the type of signals needed for a GPS.
