  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay. So now that you've seen some people really loving the Hyundai Genesis - what are your feelings about it? Keep in mind that these are the enthusiasts who know about the car first. The ones who've been waiting and looking into it for nearly 2 years. So far, I'm impressed. The Genesis isn't letting people down. So this SHOULD be something for you to be very proud of. The dealerships here aren't doing the car justice - but the work of the South Koreans is not going unrecognized...

I too, have heard some good things about it as most of you have. In fact, last week, Public television(NJN, New Jersey Network, Ch.50 here)'s episode of 'Motor Week' have featured the car shortly in their section called 'Car Keys' and have said some positive things about it, even though it was based on the car that they previewed in Namyang, South Korea. They said the handling was anything but boring but said it was a very good car overall and a great first try by Hyundai and they liked it.

I just called two of the local dealers(Hyundai of Paramus, and Liberty Hyundai, though Liberty Hyundai is a bit farther away, though I didn't have time to call another dealer in Wayne) and they both told me they have them in stock now. Hyundai of Paramus even told me they have a few Tech packaged cars in stock, and the Liberty Hyundai told me that they have just received 2 cars. They have a base car, and a premium plus package car and 3 more comming soon. So, if I can make time, I may actually go down to the Paramus and take a look at them to see what's all the hype is about and if the hype was worth it and good enough for it to be sold in US. Possibly get a brochure or two(for I kinda collect them). Though, it won't be for me, it will most likely for my dad who still drives a 9 year old car(99 Grand Am) that I gave to him and I want to save as much money as possible and surprice him, by buying a luxury car that he can enjoy.

So it's doing at least a little better than you thought.. Right?

Well, I will still hold my judgement until I see the car in person. Back in few months ago, when I went to the NY Auto show with my dad, he seemed to like the car on the turntable display. Too bad they didn't have any floor models so we couldn't really 'sample' the interior.

Well, it seems like every dealer in NJ now have at least 2 or 3 cars, though my nearest one(Paramus, which is about 15 to 20 minute drive) seems to have more cars than other dealers I called and seems to be quite a large dealer, I will probably try to make time and go down there. Well, not to test drive, but just to take a look at it. To see if the real car IS in fact as good as it looks like on all the pictures and to see if it IS in fact true if the dealer don't add any stupid 'Market Adjustment' garbage like they told me they don't. Though all 4 dealers I called told me they go strictly by MSRP and don't mark up with the 'Market Adjustment' Fee, cause, I think, if the dealer is smart enough and wants to move these cars out(sell), they will really need to go with the MSRP, and nothing more than that. I will go down there sometime, and post my views on it afterwards.
