Greeting and Leaving tone and display

Often when I leave the car I get the leaving tone and the grill animation across the screen. Often, but not always. Is there any rhyme or reason to this? Also, once I got a greeting tone and animation but only one time. I have them turned on, is there any reason they do not always work. Also, occasionally when I leave the car I get a warning to check the back seat. Again, it seems random, does not happen for any particular reason.

For my 2017 and I cannot remember all the condition:

• when entering
• Car must be locked
• drivers door must be the first to be unlocked

• when exiting
• car must have been locked previously and then unlocked automatically by putting in park?
• driver door must be opened first

This works for me at least each and every time but it took a while to figure it out.
