  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What up guys.
Currently in the most beautiful country in the wolrd(NOT)
Got a little over a month and couple days left here(counting the days down!!!)

So basically all I've been doing everyday is looking at cars. This shit is killing cus I just wanna buy a damn car!!!
Anyways what I'm looking at are
AUTOMATIC ( WIFE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE STICK AND IM DEFINITELY NOT TRYING TO HAVE HER LEARN ON MY NEW CAR)
10-12 genesis coupe
07-08 acura tl type s
08 VW R32

Now I honestly wasn't even looking at the Hyundai til a couple days ago and honestly the more and more I look into this car the more I'm liking it. But a couple days ago I was all about getting the r32 mainly because of the awd since I'm stationed at fort drum, ny and the uniqueness of the car. And the exhaust sound:cool:
Anyways when I was talking to my buddy he was Insisting on looking at a genesis coupe and so when I did and saw the price tag for a used one. It sucks though not being able to find one with navi, seems thy are pretty hard to find. Anyways I'm mainly looking at the v6 3.8 coupe. That stock exhaust is insane!!!
I wish the 2.0T came with some power.
I got a couple questions?

Roughly how much Should I pay for a used coupe?

What are some issues that I may come across on?

What are the typical basic mods for a coupe?

Is there a recommended year to get? And which model? (2.0T/V6)

Thanks guys I would appreciate any type of feedback/input

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
No one willing to chime in and put out some info???

This is primarily a Genesis sedan forum, I believe. I'd try Genesis Coupe.com.

Let me first thank you for your service.
Afghanistan isn’t any cake assignment, no matter what you’re doing there.
I’m a Genesis sedan guy and don’t know a hell of a lot about the coupes, except they are hot.
As far a pricing out a used coupe I found this neat sight that shows you what the dealer paid for the car if he bought it at auction. Go to http://www.snafuscan.com/ and enter the war room for additional information.
This should give you a pretty good idea of what the car is worth and how much you can squeeze the dealer for a car.
I running a 3.8 in a sedan which is heavier than a coupe and the 3.8 290hp pushes the sedan around pretty good. The coupe’s 3.8 has 333hp, so I’m thinking the stock version is a mover.
There is a tremendous amount of aftermarket “stuff” available for the Hyundai’s and KIA’s from South Korea and domestic sources.
Just do some searches on the internet or E-bay and you’ll see what I mean.
Thank again for your service and come home safe

Can't help much with your questions but do want to be the first to thank you for your service to our country. Good look with your car shopping.

If you're looking to not modify your car much and want decent power up front, the the 3.8 is good for you. Automatics seem to suck for all years with an improvement on 2013s. I can't really comment too much on it, since I have a 6sp.

Anyway, I have a 2.0 :D I was looking at the 3.8s, but when I noticed to aftermarket scene, there wasn't much of one. It cost quite a lot more money to up the power in an N/A platform after you've peaked out, but with factory turbo car with lower compression and is built for boost, power is easy. I'm at just under 300whp with the stock turbo and could probably go more; thats on par with fully bolted 10-12 gens and close with the 13s.

I would've chosen a different car had I wanted to race, my gen's goal is to look good while being semi-quick.

It's all about what you're after :)

EDIT: And yes, G E N Coupe.com (not genesiscoupe.com) is much more popular with coupes, though they are mostly d!ckheads lol
