  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just came from viewing the GV70 on Monday. Really liked the vehicle but
really found the Tech in the next to top line model overwhelming compared to my current 2016 Genny touch screen. I'm 75 & can't believe the number of menus & different settings are what driver's want or need. Do we really want or need the sound of a coffee shop or a river ? Now I know why there is a chip shortage.

I agree that I also have no need at all for the sounds of nature, but it did not require any extra chips. It's just software and data added into one of the existing chips that had plenty of room left over for it.

Please give me all the tech and give me the option to turn it off if I don't want to use it. It's 2021 and not 2016, so the top-of-the-line models must have the tech to be competitive with the competition.

Somehow the premise of the automobile is for transportation got lost. Most of us want the goodies though. It has to be reasonably simple or you do lose a few customers.

I have a friend that is very intelligent, ran a nice business, has many accomplishments but does not know how to use the navigation in her car. Next visit that is my job to teach her.

welllll.... yes and no.... I don’t drive the GTS for its tech, I can promise you that. And I nearly bought a AR Stelvio Quad two weekends ago (instead of wtg on the GV) which has almost ZERO tech in it... but again, it sure as heck wasn’t on my radar for that. Good stereo, Apple CarPlay, parking sensors. I’m good to go at that point. My current Macan doesn’t have NAV (does have Apple CarPlay tho); and I have never even thought about not having (stock) NAV. Heck, my wife‘s car has NAV and we never use it... just Waze, or Google Maps, or Apple Maps (via CarPlay). I can spend literally half what it cost to get a new Macan and get two to three times the tech... But it wouldn’t drive or sound like a Porsche. Different strokes for different folks.

every new car has tech. the tech in the g70 isnt above and beyond what the rest of the industry has, it just has it for cheaper. The base Macan will come with all the tech as well, you just have to pay a ton extra for it and the porsche badge.

hell, even civics and elantras have more tech than many luxury cars had just a few years ago

Plug in phone. Use Waze. ;) Then, just say stuff like "hey google/siri, navigate to XYZ" without pressing any buttons. (Caution: will not work with most flip-phones)
